임현진 교수는 서울대학교 사회학과 명예교수이며, 대한민국학술원 회원이다. 서울대학교에서 학사와 석사 학위를 취득한 후 하버드대학교에서 사회학 박사학위를 받았다.
한국을 대표하는 사회학자이자 공공 지식인으로서 학계와 시민사회에서 활발히 활동해 왔다. 서울대학교 교양교육원장과 사회과학대학장을 역임했으며, 다수의 학술상과 공로상을 수상했다. 또한 경제정의실천시민연합(경실련) 대표 등 다양한 시민사회단체의 대표를 맡아 시민사회와 공공의 영역에서도 꾸준히 활동해 왔다. 세계화, 시민사회, 민주주의, 포퓰리즘, 동아시아와 라틴아메리카의 비교발전 등을 주제로 연구해 왔으며, 70여 권의 저서와 250편 이상의 학술논문을 발표했다.
Dr. Hyun-Chin Lim is Professor Emeritus of Sociology, Seoul National University. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, Republic of Korea.
Dr. Lim is highly recognized as a scholar and public intellectual in Korea. He served as Dean of Liberal Education and Dean of College of Social Sciences, Seoul National University. He received numerous awards and recognition. He also led various civil society organizations as representative, such as Citizens’ Coalition for Economic Justice.
He received his B.A. and M.A. from Seoul National University, and his Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University. His publications include more than 70 books and over 250 scholarly articles on globalization, civil society, democracy, populism, and comparative development of East Asia and Latin America.

공석기는 서울대학교 사회학과에서 학사·석사를 마치고 미국 하버드대학교에서 사회학 박사학위를 받았다. 정치사회학, 사회운동, 시민사회, 인권, 사회적경제를 중심으로 연구해 왔으며, 주요 저서로 『주민과 시민 사이』(2017), 『마을에 해답이 있다』(2020), 『시민운동의 미래는 있는가』(2023), 『동아시아의 풀뿌리 세계시민』(2026) 등이 있다. 현재 서울대학교 아시아연구소 연구교수·선임연구원으로 재직하며 시민사회, 민주주의, 지역공동체와 돌봄에 관한 비교연구를 수행하고 있다.
Suk-Ki Kong received his B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University. His research focuses on political sociology, social movements, civil society, human rights, and the social economy. His major publications address civil society, local communities, citizenship, and care democracy in Korea and East Asia. He is currently a Research Professor and Senior Research Fellow at the Seoul National University Asia Center, where he conducts comparative research on civil society, democracy, local communities, and care.
김영춘은 서울대학교 사회학과에서 학사·석사를 마치고, 미국 스탠퍼드대학교에서 사회학 박사학위를 받았다. 주요 관심분야는 기술혁신과 조직변화, 조직 내외 협력네트워크와 조직학습, 신제도주의적 조직이론 등이다. 주요 연구는 Organization Science, Management Science, Research Policy 등의 국제학술지에 게재되었다. 현재 유니스트(UNIST) 기술경영전문대학원 및 경영과학부 교수로 재직 중이다.
Young-Choon Kim received his B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. in Sociology from Stanford University. His research examines how organizations innovate and adapt in response to technological and institutional change. His research has been published in leading journals such as Organization Science, Management Science, and Research Policy. He is a Professor at the Graduate School of Technology & Innovation Management, School of Business Administration, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
서울대학교 교육학과에서 박사 과정을 수료한 후, 영국 University of Surrey에서 박사학위(Ph.D.)를 취득하였다. 이후 호주 University of Technology Sydney에서 기금교수(Endeavour Award Scholar)로 활동하였으며, 이탈리아 University of Verona 방문교수를 역임, 그리고 일본 정부로부터 JSPS 우수학자상을 수상하고 규슈대학교 방문학자로 재직한 바 있다. 현재는 한국교육개발원 선임연구위원으로 재직 중이며, 대통령직속 국가교육위원회 인문사회특별위원회 위원과 국무조정실 청년정책조정위원회 민간위원으로 활동하고 있다. 『다문화교육과 평생교육』(2018), 『다문화교육과 세계시민교육 이론과 쟁점 』(2019), 『교육자를 위한 다문화교육과 세계시민교육 방법론 』(2022) 등 60권의 논저가 있다.
Jinhee Kim earned her Ph.D. from the University of Surrey, UK, after completing doctoral coursework at Seoul National University. SHe has held academic appointments as an Endeavour Award Scholar at the University of Technology Sydney, a visiting professor at the University of Verona, Italy, and a JSPS Prize-winning visiting scholar at Kyushu University, Japan. Dr KIM currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI), and as a member of the Presidential National Education Commission’s Special Committee on Humanities and Social Sciences and the Prime Minister’s Office Committee for Coordination of Youth Policies. She has authored more than 60 books and publications, including Multicultural Education and Lifelong Education (2018), Multicultural Education and Global Citizenship Education: Theories and Issues (2019), and Methods of Multicultural Education and Global Citizenship Education for Educators (2022).
조원지는 서울대학교 아동가족학과에서 학사석사를 마치고 미국 조지아대학에서 가족학 박사학위(노년학)를 받았다. 여성농업인, 사회적 농업, 농촌 노인, 농업고용인력, 농촌 식품사막 등 농촌사회 전반을 연구해 왔다. 현재 전북연구원 연구위원·책임연구위원으로 재직하며 농촌 주민·노인의 삶의 질, 농촌 식품사막 지표체계 개발, 농촌 저이용·유휴시설 활용, 계절근로자 등을 주제로 연구를 수행하고 있다.
Wonjee Cho received he B.A and M.A. in Child Development and Family Studies form Seoul National University, and earned her Ph.D. in Family Studies(specializing in Gerontology) form the University of Gerogia. Her research encompasses a broad range of rural social issues, including female farmers, social farming, the rural elderly, the agricultural labor force, and rural food desrts. She currently serces as a Research Fellow at the Jeonbuk Institute, where her ongoing work focuses on the quality of life among rural resients and older adults, the development of indicator frameworks for rural food deserts, the revitalization of undertutilized and vacant rural facilities, and seasonal agricultural workers.
이로미는 연세대학교 교육학과에서 학사·석사를 마치고 캐나다 브리티시컬럼비아대학교(UBC)에서 성인교육학 박사학위를 받았다. 성인학습, 노년교육, 이주민 교육 및 직업훈련, 다양성(DEI) 교육 및 시민교육을 중심으로 연구해 왔으며, 주요 저서로 『다문화시민교육』, 『21세기 노년』, 『노인교육론』, 『성인학습 및 상담』 등이 있다. 현재 한국방송통신대학교 교육학과 전임대우강의교수로 재직하며 다양성 교육 및 시민교육을 중심으로 연구를 수행하고 있다.
Romee Lee received her B.A. and M.A. in Education from Yonsei University and her Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on adult learning, educational gerontology, migrant education, vocational training, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and civic education. Her major publications address multiculturalism, civil society and activists, and diverse dimensions of adult learning focusing on older adults. She is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Education at Korea National Open University, where she conducts research focusing on diversity and civic education.
강명세는 고려대학교에서 학사·석사를 마치고 미국 뉴스쿨에서 미국정치·정치경제를 수료한 후 UCLA에서 정치학 박사 학위를 획득했다. 주 연구 분야는 비교정치경제, 한국정치 및 방법론이다. 현재 연구는 정치팬덤과 당파적 미디어 환경이 어떻게 개인의 정서적 양극화, 정치적 선택에 영향을 미치는지, 그리고 한국에서 정서적 양극화가 민주주의 위기에서 한 역할에 주목해왔다. 주요 저서로는 『불평등 민주주의와 포퓰리즘』(2019), 『민주주의 복지국가 그리고 재분배 』(2014), 『한국의 노동시장과 노동정치』(2004) 등이다. 현재 서울대학교 아시아연구소 방문학자로 양극화와 민주주의의 퇴행에 대한 연구를 수행 중이다.
Miongsei Kang is a nonresidential fellow at the Seoul National University Asia Center whose work examines political polarization, democratic resilience, and changing patterns of political participation. His current research investigates how political fandom and partisan media ecosystems shape candidate support, affective polarization, and citizens’ responses to democratic crises in South Korea. More broadly, he studies democratic backsliding, populist attitudes, partisan identity, and the political consequences of digital media. His research combines comparative political sociology with survey, panel, and experimental methods to explain how partisan attachments shape citizens’ interpretations of democratic norms and influence the resilience of democracy in contemporary East Asia. He received her B.A. and M.A. from Korea University, and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
신의항은 서울대학교 아시아연구소의 방문연구원이며 사우스캐롤라이나 대학교 사회학과의 명예교수이다. 그는 서울대학교에서 사회학 학사를, 펜실베이니아 대학교에서 인구학 석사 및 박사 학위를 받았다. 그의 주요 연구 분야는 정치인구학, 국제 고등교육, 그리고 국가·시민사회·스포츠 간의 관계 등이다.
Eui Hang Shin is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Seoul National University Asia Center and Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Sociology at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina. He received his B.A. in Sociology from Seoul National University and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include political demography, international higher education, and the relationships among the state, civil society, and sports. He has published articles in a wide range of scholarly journals, including Amerasia Journal, American Educational Research Journal, American Sociologist, Asian Survey, Behavioral Science, Demography, East Asia: An International Quarterly, International Journal of Korean Studies, International Migration, International Migration Review, Journal of Aging Studies, Journal of the American Society for Information Science, Journal of Black Studies, Journal of Development Studies, Journal of East Asian Studies, Journal of Gerontology, Journal of Sport and Social Issues, Population Research and Policy Review, Review of Regional Studies, Rural Sociology, Social Biology, Social Forces, Social Science & Medicine, Social Science Quarterly, Sociological Analysis, Sociological Forum, and Sociology and Social Research.
이기홍은 서울대학교 사회학과에서 학사를 마치고 미국 University of California, Los Angeles에서 사회학 박사학위를 받았다. 수리사회학(데이터 과학), 경제사회학, 연구 방법론을 중심으로 연구했고, 한국조사연구학회, 한국사회학회에서 주로 활동했다. 국가, 공공 데이터를 작성하고 관리하는 민간 기관에 재직 중이며, 서울대학교 아시아연구소 방문연구원이다. 최근 관심사는 정치와 종교의 결합을 팬덤 개념으로 설명하기이다.
Gihong Yi received his B.A. in Sociology from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research has focused on mathematical sociology (data science), economic sociology, and research methodology, and he has been primarily active in the Korean Association for Survey Research and the Korean Sociological Association. He currently works at a private-sector organization that produces and manages national and public-sector data and is a Visiting Researcher at the Asia Center, Seoul National University. His recent research interests focus on explaining the intersection of politics and religion through the concept of fandom.
서울대학교 아시아센터 객원연구원이자 일본 미야자키국제대학 교수로 재직하였다. 미국 Georgetown University International Visiting Professor, 미국 Michigan State University Visiting Scholar이자, 사회과학원 해외초빙교수, 고려대학교 아세아문제연구소 객원교수, 한국개발원 KDI School 강사 및 조교수다. 고려대학교 정치외교학과 학사 및 석사 후 다중화인민공화국 베이징대학 국제관계학원 박사를 취득했다.
민원정은 한국외국어대학교에서 라틴아메리카문학 전공으로 박사학위를 받았으며 2006년부터 2022년까지 칠레 가톨릭대학교 교수로 재직했다. 독일 베를린자유대학교, 미국 미시간대학교, 일본 소피아대학교 등에서 강의했으며, 한국과 라틴아메리카 간 이주와 문화 교류, 한류와 대중문화, 초국적 이동을 중심으로 연구해 왔다. 관련 연구를 SSCI 및 Scopus 등재 국제학술지에 발표했으며, 주요 저서로 『놀랍도록 길어서 미치도록 다양한 칠레』(2024), 공저로 Transnational Hallyu: The Globalization of Korean Digital and Popular Culture(2021) 등이 있다. 현재 서울대학교 아시아연구소 시민사회프로그램 객원연구원으로 있으며, SNUAC KF e-School 프로그램을 통해 칠레 알베르토우르타도대학교에서 한국과 칠레의 비교 역사·문화에 관한 강의를 하고 있다.
Wonjung Min received her Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and served as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile from 2006 to 2022. She has also taught at Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Michigan, and Sophia University in Japan. Her research focuses on migration and cultural exchange between Korea/Asia and Latin America, Hallyu and popular culture, and transnational mobility. She has published her research in SSCI- and Scopus-indexed international journals. Her major publications include Chile: Incredibly Long and Astonishingly Diverse (2024, in Korean) and the co-authored Transnational Hallyu: The Globalization of Korean Digital and Popular Culture (2021). She is currently a Visiting Researcher with the Civil Society Program at the Seoul National University Asia Center and teaches comparative history and culture of Korea and Chile at Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Chile through the SNUAC KF e-School Program.
